Scott was born on August 30, 1953 in Waco, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lynne Lewis, of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Scott was a 1975 graduate from United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He served as Captain in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea for 14 months, then stationed at Fort Stewart and Fort Gordon in Georgia.
He received a Masters degree in Business from the University of Michigan. During his career, Scott was plant manager at Purolator in Fayetteville, NC; Vice President at Champion in Albion, IL; and co-owner of B & D in Mt. Carmel, IL.
Scott enjoyed golf, hunting, and grilling out with family and friends. He had a big heart and was loved by many. He was a welcoming and gracious host at many family gatherings and will be greatly missed. As a young husband and father, he converted to the Catholic faith.
He is survived by Jane Weis Lewis, his wife of nearly 40 years; and their children, Zachary Scott (Danielle) Lewis of Mt. Carmel, IL and Lauren Sevena Lewis of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Ivy Lynne Lewis and Hazel Beverly Lewis of Mt. Carmel, IL; brother, Tony (Jeanette) Lewis of El Paso, TX; sisters, Tamera (Kelby) Robertson of Wink, TX, Tia (Stacy) Mills of Carlsbad, NM, and Deon (Jimmy) Kempler of St. Cloud, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Burke Memorial Gardens.
