Earl R. Schroeder, age 96 of Legend Lake, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away Wednesday morning, December 19, 2012 at Maple Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shawano. Earl had been a resident there for the past eleven months. Earl was born February 7, 1916 in Milwaukee, WI a son of the late August H. and Rose (Menzel) Schroeder. He attended school in Hartford. Following School he was employed at the Geyser Potato Company. On April 24, 1937 he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Rilling in Milwaukee. Following their marriage the couple lived in Milwaukee. Earl served in the United States Army during World War II. Upon returning from the service, Earl was employed as a machinist at the Kroening Company. Following Earl's Retirement, the couple moved to Legend Lake. His wife Dorothy preceded him in death on February 29th, 1999 (LEAP YEAR). Earl is survived by his two children –Gary (Judy) Schroeder of Shawano and Rosie (Larry) Lemke of Marion. Five grandchildren-Cheryl (Tom ) Dasaw; Robert Schroeder; Timothy Schroeder; Sue Bossell and Connie (Charlie) Garcia; Six Great grandchildren; five great–great grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Wife Dorothy and five sisters, Audrey Czemierys; Marie Juech, Margaret Zinke; Gladys Barkhausen and Ruth Schultz. Funeral services for Earl Schroeder will be held Saturday, December 22, at 12 PM at the Family Center of Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, followed by Entombment.
