Janie Nance Brown, 93, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Friday February 22, 2019 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday February 25, 2019 at Speedwell Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Madison County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Jule Palmar “J.P.” and Lois Gin Howington and had lived most of her life in Reidsville. She worked for twenty years as a secretary at Atwater Waynick Hosiery Mill and later retired from the Reidsville Review with twenty years of service. She was a member of Speedwell Presbyterian Church where she had served as an Elder and church treasurer for a number of years. She was a former member and past president of the Reidsville Pilot Club, and a former member of the Woodrose Garden Club. Janie enjoyed reading, playing bridge, dancing and traveling,
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Arthur Earl Nance, and John Astor Brown, a brother: William Howington, and a sister: Wilda H. Embler.
She is survived by her son Arthur “Artie” Nance and wife Patty of Seminole, FL.
