Born January 17, 1940 in Crockettsville, KY, she was the daughter of Wilburn Turner who passed away on November 16, 1976 and Oma R. (Riley) Turner who passed away on January 11, 1996.
On December 12, 1959, at the former Crothersville Presbyterian Church, she married Danny Lee, who survives in Crothersville.
Marie was a 1957 Crothersville High School graduate. She worked as a beautician after high school, then at the US Shoe Factory, Paris Style, and Charlestown Powder Plant. Marie retired from Crothersville Schools after 30+ years, has worked in the Cracker Barrell gift shop since 1997 in Seymour, has volunteered at Schneck Medical Center for over 35 years and she volunteered at The Clothes Cottage in Crothersville. Above of all, she was a full time, devoted, and loving wife, mom, and nanny to her family.
Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crothersville and Phi Beta Psi Sorority. She enjoyed planning her “girl outings”, arranging special gatherings for all of her friends, and was the glue that held them altogether. Marie had an outgoing, bubbly, comical personality that everyone loved. She loved life, was caring, selfless, and most of all giving. Her love was contagious, was always concerned for others, and a friend to all.
Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Danny Lee, 2 sons, Jeff (Gena) Lee of Crothersville, IN, Kelly (Tracy) Lee of Commiskey, IN, 5 grandchildren, Brent Lee, Erica (Jamie) Land, Crystal Seals, Tysha (Mitch) Smith, and Katelynn Youngblood, 6 great grandchildren, Silas, Maddox, & Ezra Land, Vahl’n Seals, Annick Gonzales, and Amelia Smith, 2 siblings, Dewey (Phyllis) Turner of Crothersville, IN and Louise (Kenneth) Forrest of Dixon, MO.
