Laura "Pauline" Adkins, age 77, of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday December 20, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center. Pauline was the daughter of the late Melvin and Zora Damron Compton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carney Adkins and her son Clancy Adkins. She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky January 13, 1940. Pauline was a home maker and a member of the House of Prayer and Worship.
Mrs. Adkins is survived by: Her sons-Donnie (Etha) Adkins of Banner, Kentucky, Ronnie (Teresa) Hall) Adkins of Toler Creek, Kentucky, and Dennis (Monica) Adkins of Springhill, Florida, her step son Terry (Sharon) Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, Her daughters, Beulah Harrison of Pikeville, Kentucky, Judy Slone of Banner, Kentucky, her step daughter Mary Ellen Smith of Johnson City, Tennessee, her daughter-in-law Beverly Adkins of Pikeville, Kentucky, one brother, Melvin Junior Compton of Phelps, Kentucky, three sisters, Lillie Bunch of Coal Run, Kentucky, Gloria Keathley of Coal Run, Kentucky, Jo Evelyn Miles of Norton, Kentucky, twenty grandchildren and thirty three great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 7:00 P.M. Thursday December 21, 2017. The funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery, Hurricain Road-Pikeville, Kentucky.
