Lieutenant Colonel Merle “Mike” G., Air Force Reserve (Ret.), 79, of Temple Terrace died peacefully on April 10, 2018 at Melech Hospice House. Mike was a Special Agent with Prudential Life Insurance Company for 20 years. He was a devoted Christian and member of Christ Lutheran Church in Saint Petersburg. Mike was actively involved in the community and received many recognitions for his military, professional and volunteer service. Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen, his brother, Ralph W. Harper, many nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral services will be held at Blount and Curry Funeral Home at the Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, Florida. Friday, April 20, 2018. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m., immediately followed by a chapel service. Entombment service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
