John Calvin Emmons, Sr. age 80, a native and resident of Bay Minette, AL died Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. He was a retired shipping clerk at Kaiser Aluminum. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Loretta Grace Inman Emmons of Bay Minette, AL; his children, John Calvin (Melanie) Emmons, Jr. of Baldwin, NY, Steven Henry (Nancy) Emmons of Loxley, AL, Bobby Wayne (Penny) Emmons of Urbandale, IA and Timothy Kirk (Amanda) Emmons, Sr., of Bay Minette, AL; three grandchildren, Misty Dawn Emmons, Anna Rebecca Emmons and Kirk Emmons, Jr. and two great grandchildren, Ashtian Bittle and Kaden Bittle.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Rocky Dean Emmons and Charles Ray Emmons; his father, Henry Emmons; his mother, Rena Long Eckert; stepfather, Donald Eckert; brother, James Henry Emmons, Sr. and sister, Thelma Emmons Pierce.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church with Reverend John Montalvo officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 25, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at New life Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers they family requests memorial contributions be made to New Life Baptist Church, 49535 Rabun Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
