George A. Carr Jr. Beloved father, brother and grandfather, worked for many years at Frenchtown Roller Rink, 81 George Arthur Carr Jr. died on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at East Carolina Heart Institute (Vidant Medical Center) in Greenville, N.C. He was 81 years old. George was born to George Carr Sr. and Emma Breiner Carr on Oct. 16, 1936 in Bucks County, Pa. He spent his childhood and much of his adult life residing in Upper Black Eddy, Pa. He moved to North Carolina with his daughter, Alison, in 2010. He retired from Delaware Valley Quarry in Upper Black Eddy, Pa. He also spent many years working at the Frenchtown Roller Rink in Frenchtown, N.J. Much of his free time was spent roller skating, bowling, watching NASCAR, hunting, coaching baseball at the Bridgeton Athletic Association, and going to amusement parks with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (he loved riding the "rolly" coasters). He was a very loving father and is survived by his children, Alison Bolte (Larry) of Farmville, N.C.; Scott Carr (Gretchen) of Upper Black Eddy, Pa.; Christopher Carr (Diane) of Bath, Pa., and Darin Carr (Corinna) of Flemington, N.J. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Philip, Ericka (Thaxton), Adam, Justin, Brandon Weaver, Scott, Spencer, Skyler, Shaedon Carr, Kyle Carr, Bethany (Camp), Emile (Abraham), Samantha (Lacey), Amanda (Carr), Melissa (Bowers), Josh, Stephanie Dancho. 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell and Raymond Carr; eight sisters, Mary (Stamets), Emma (Michael), Ethel (Mitchell), Alice (Slater), Maggie (Hendry), Theresa (Roberts), Bernadette (Reading), and Barbara (Dilley), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant granddaughter, Kaitlyn Carr and sister, Marion (Sipler). He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, potty mouth, and his love of sports. At George's request, there will be no formal services held; however, a memorial celebration picnic will be held in his honor at Bridgeton AA, June 16th, Upper Black Eddy, Pa. All are welcome to attend. At the family's request, memorial gifts may be directed to Bridgeton AA, Bridgeton Hill Rd., Upper Black Eddy, Pa. 18972.
