January 27, 1965 ~ February 29, 2019

Gary Butler, age 54 of Idabel, OK passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Idabel, OK.

Gary Lee Butler entered into this world on Wednesday, January 27, 1965
in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of seven children gifted to his
beloved mother Eva Mac Butler.

Gary was raised in Idabel and attended Idabel Schools. He graduated
from Idabel High School in 1984. While in school he was known to be a
kind young man with a big heart. He was always laughing and playing
jokes on his classmates. Gary also ran track and was a vital part of his
team.

He gave his life to the Lord at an early age. At that time he was a
member of the Rose Baptist Church. Gary was a faithful and dedicated
servant of the Lord, He has a great passion for singing and playing the
guitar. He looked forward to singing and playing while visiting other
churches.

Gary embraced the role of being the youngest and took full advantage of
being his mother’s “baby boy”. He looked up to his older siblings, and
they all loved their baby brother dearly. He was proud to sing and play
the guitar for the family gospel group “The Heavenly Five”, which
consisted of his older brothers.

In 1995 Gary married the mother of his children, Aimee Nunley, he was
the father of eight.

He worked for the Pilgrims Pride Company and later gained employment
with Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill Company until the plant was permanently
closed.

Gary enjoyed family get togethers and hanging with his friends. On
Wednesday, February 20, 2019, God requested Gary’s presence and sent
His angels to bring him home.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his children, two daughters,
NaStassia Nunley and RayShonda Jones,

Six sons; DaVian Harper, Marcellius, Gary and Jerry Nunley, Michael and Brian Butler,

Three grandchildren; Julian LaVoll, Alila Johnson and Nevaeh Phillips,

Siblings; Aretha Butler Cole, William Butler, Ethel Mae Caldwell
(Clarence), Robert Butler, Verdelle Nichols, Alonzo Cooper, Clara Lee
Cooper, William Cooper Sr,. Aster Cooper Sr., Affie and Charles Boyles
and Effie Gordon,

Two maternal aunts; Annie Mae Dunn and Mary Craft.
A close cousin Billy D Mack and good friends Charles Hill, Hudson Hill
and Royce Bible. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of
nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Butler, sister, Ollie
Mae Wise, Esther Cooper, brothers, Vernell Butler, Virgil and Vaster
Cooper.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the funeral home.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wright City, OK with Rev. Darnell Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at the Williamston Cemetery in Idabel, OK.
