Mrs. Janet Little Odom, age 95 of Rockmart passed away Wednesday evening, February 20, 2019. Mrs. Odom was born August 31, 1923 in Tallapoosa, daughter of the late Jesse Mercer Little and the late Ida Green Little. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with 41 years of service. She loved every minute working at Goodyear and took great pride during World War II rapping bandages for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Odom was a very good cook, artistic, loved to paint and talk to family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leonard William Odom on August 10, 1996, to whom she married at the age of 15; and four siblings. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Odom Sorrells of Rome; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Cheryl Odom of Rockmart; four grandchildren, Cindy Sorrells and Coni Sorrells Evans both of Rome, Jaimee Odom Sharp of Rockmart and David Odom of Canton; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Odom will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Paul Smith, David Odom, Ryan Dean, Adam Dean, Gary Evans, Shannon Brown, Jeremy Sharp and Hagen Sharp. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Janet Little Odom.
