Obituary for Jimmy Wayne Hunter
Jimmy Wayne Hunter, age 63, of Murfreesboro, passed away on September 30, 2010 at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Jim was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Square D after 28 years and was a homebuilder.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Sallie Webb Hunter; son, Jeff Coker; brothers, Jesse Hunter and Charles Edward Hunter; sisters, Sue Mary Hunter Jenkins and Allie Ray; and three grandchildren, Daniel Byron Dement, II, Makenzie Hope Dement and Caleb Byron Dement. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Cheatham Hunter of Murfreesboro; son, Shayne (Jennifer) Hunter of Murfreesboro; daughter, Tammy Lea (Daniel) Dement; brothers, Gary (Pat) Hunter and Howard (Faye) Hunter; sister, Jane (Lynn) Hunter Sloan; and seven grandchildren, Beau Hunter, Carson Hunter, Kelsey Dement, Cason Dement, William Coker, Dustin Coker and Mason Coker.
Chapel service for Jim will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Jennings & Ayers Chapel, with Ken Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Mickey Anderson, Sam Anderson, Kenneth Curlee, Beau Hunter, William Coker, Howard Hunter, Gary Hunter, and Mike Bolin serving as active pallbearers. Kelly Ross will be an honorary pallbearer.
