Esther Lena Wright

Esther Lena Wright was born July 28, 1931 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Octave Vital, Sr. and Loretta Vital who preceded her in death. Esther Lena was the third child of eleven children. She was baptized at St. Edward Catholic Church in New Iberia, LA. She was later joined in Holy Matrimony to Willie Frank Wright on December 21, 1966 who preceded her in death. From this union came Ruth Lanell, Michael Frank, Morley Lynn, Tanya Rochelle, and Anitra Willette.
Esther Lena was baptized in Jesus' Name and received the Holy Ghost at Christ Temple Apostle Church under the leadership of the late District Elder A.J. Patterson. For years, she served faithfully at Christ Temple under his leadership and the late Bishop David Allen, Sr. and now, Pastor David Allen Jr. She served as a Precious Pearl member and on the Hospitality Committee where she worked in the phone room to answer incoming calls. Esther Lena remained a faithful member and attended until her health declined.
For many years Esther Lena served faithfully as a caregiver for commercial businesses as well as household families where she developed and maintained lifelong relationships.
Esther Lena taught her children not to figure out everything in life, but to trust God. She showed them unconditional love and although she had five biological children, she was also a mother to many others.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Octave and Loretta Vital, Sr.; seven siblings: Rosemary Cotton, James Vital, Loretta Mae Sampy, Annie Lee Wright, Margaret Leona Thompson, Harry Vital, and Frances Deola Wiltz.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Ruth Lanell, Michael Frank (Detra), Morley Lynn, Tanya Rochelle (Demond), Anitra Willette; sixteen grandchildren: Whitney, Shontel, Shonte', Mi'kell, Devin, Charity, Willie, Michael II, Courtney, Kobie, Taylor, Brandon, Stephaney, Hannah, Alexia, Saniya; five great-grandchildren: Kamille, Sarai, London, Thai, Caisen; three siblings: Mary Leanna Chambers, Octave Vital, Jr. (Addie), Harriet Vital, a sister in law, Bernadette Vital, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
