Mrs. NINA L. HEARD, 47 years old, wife of Dr. J.E. Heard, 202 Alsquith Street, health warden of the Fifth ward, died sudenly early yesterday morning at her home. Mrs. Heard had apparently been in the best of health and talked with her isster, Mrs. William B. Thompson, until about midnight. She then retired.
Shortly after this Mrs. Thompson noticed that her sister had a violent coughing spell and entered the room to see if anything could be done for her. Seeing that she seemed to be ill, Dr. Heard was called and he sent for another physician. His wife died shortly after the arrival of the doctor. Dr. Heard said his wife died of Bright's disease.
Mrs. Heard, daughter of the late J.V. Posey, of Charles County, was born in St. Mary's County and came to this city with her parents. She was educated in the schools of Baltimore.
She married Dr. Heard in 1882 and besides her husband is survived by a son, Mrs. Roland E. Heard.
