Peggy Louise Hughes, passed away at her home in Mountain Home, Arkansas Sunday morning, February 17, 2019. Peggy specifically requested that no memorial service be held. Her ashes will be scattered next to the graves of her father, Travis Fried and mother, Moselle by the family at a future date. Peggy was born to Travis and Moselle (Allen) Fried, at the home of Moselle’s father Jasper Allen in Harleton, Texas on October 2, 1933. She was a graduate of Longview High School and Kilgore College. She worked as an independent Certified Public Landman all over the oil patch in Texas and Louisiana.
She worshipped God at East Side Baptist Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Surviving members of her family include her husband, James P. Hughes, whom she married in 1953; her three children, Tony Hughes and wife Patricia, Angela Hughes and Debra Hughes Osborn and husband Michael Osborn; a Sister, Sarah Hardy (Fried); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Peggy is predeceased by her beloved father, Travis Fried Sr; mother, Moselle Fried as well as her brothers, Dan, Larry, Travis Jr. and Carlton Fried. Those wishing to honor Peggy’s memory are encouraged to do so by supporting Highway 80 Rescue Mission, Longview, Texas.
