DAHINDA - Roger Parks, 59, formerly of Dahinda, Ill., passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at his son's home in Crystal Lake, Ill., after succumbing to a long, hard battle with cancer. Roger was born in Bethany, Mo., son of the late Earl Dale Parks and Evelyn Parks Casely. Roger graduated from Princeville high school in 1972. He then began his long run at Caterpillar, retiring after 38 years in 2009. After retirement, Roger moved to a country home in Dahinda, Illinois. Roger was a car and Harley enthusiast, winning many competitions with his restored '51 Chevy panel truck. He was a loving father and friend and will be greatly missed. Roger is survived by one son, Clay Parks. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Dale Parks and Evelyn Parks Casley; brother, Dale Lynn Parks; and his nephew, Patrick Parks. The family will hold a picnic celebration of Roger's life at the Bradley Park Pavilion on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. All are asked to come and share their memories.
