Anita Diana Cooper, 60, of Midland, went home to the Lord, Monday, May 2, 2011, at 11:00 p.m. She was born in Haskell, TX, January 8, 1951, to Rosie Lee and TJ Briscoe. Diana graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, before moving to Midland with her family in 1972. She touched the lives of many students, families, and co-workers in her 23 years of service with Midland Independent School District Food Services, before retiring. She was the Food Services Manager at Rusk, Bowie, San Jacinto, and finally Lee High School. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was very mission minded and passionate about sharing her faith with everyone she encountered. She touched many lives with her loving heart and faith in God. She fought a valiant battle with cancer. Throughout her recent illness, she impressed everyone with her endless faith, courage, and strength that God's will be done. Her children will forever remember her as an amazing mother, selfless, and loving. Diana was survived by her parents; children, Sonjia Cooper and Alicia and Austin Clelland; grandchildren, Keighden Davis, Jaden Hoeckendorf, Abriella Davis, all of Midland; her brothers and sisters, Norman Briscoe of Midland, TX, Dennis Briscoe of Tyler, TX, Linda Darlene Winn of Durant, OK, and Debbie Horton of Midland; and a host of family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at Second Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Second Baptist Church (3125 Travis Ave, Midland, TX 79701) marked for Missions in Diana's name, or give to your church. mission fund.
