Jimmie C. Bayes, age 82, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Baptist Health, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Caney, Kentucky, on September 2, 1932, a son of the late Smith and Julia Grimes Bayes. He was founder and owner of Rose and Jim's Bar and Grill, on Georgetown Road, and he served with the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army.

He is survived by: three daughters, Jimalou Bayes, Charlene Ross and Yvonne Adams, all of Lexington; two sisters; a brother; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, October 9, at Clark Legacy Center, in Brannon Crossing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.
