After discharge returned home and joined the family retail business.
He was united in marriage to Bonnie Kahle, and they were blessed with two daughters of whom he was especially proud.
He was active in his church, all community organizations, enjoyed golf, family vacations and of course the Huskers. He then pursued retail management in other areas until retirement in 1993 in Iowa City, then moved to Omaha to be closer to family.
He was patient and quick to laugh and was known for his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. His greatest joy was his wife and daughters.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years. Preceded in death by his daughters, Kathleen and Patti George, as well as other dear family members.
