David O. Clay of Social Circle, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019, at the age of 72. A faithful member of Almon Baptist Church, Mr. Clay was a devoted Christian man and his faith defined him. He retired from BellSouth with 36 years of dedicated service. Mr. Clay enjoyed fishing and singing old hymns. He was a devoted and loving family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.O. and Thelma Clay.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Clay; daughters and sons-in-law, Kalyn and Lance Peppers, Sherri and Dennis Sharpton; son and daughter-in-law, John and Audrey Clay; grandchildren, Emily, Steven, Jesse, Jacob, Zachary, Christen, Matthew, Nicholas, Connor; brother, Larry Clay; as well as one niece and four nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Clay will be held Friday, February 22, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at Almon Baptist Church, 122 Almon Road, in Covington, with Rev. Ricky Bruce and Rev. Mark George officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Thursday, February 21, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
