"Rev. Emilio Diaz, 60, of Coleman died Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his residence surrounded by family. There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.

"Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dick Schultz, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiating and assisted by Rev. Felix Diaz. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

"Rev. Emilio Diaz was born November 3, 1958 in Lamesa, to Buster Diaz and Aurora Suniga Diaz. He grew up in Coleman and attended school at Novice. He graduated from Coleman High School and went on to graduate from Howard Payne University with bachelors degree in Theology and a minor in Psychology. He also attended Texas Technical Institute in Waco and graduated with an associate degree in Computer Science.

"Rev. Diaz became an ordained minister through Emmanuel Baptist, where he served as Associate Pastor. He is also the minister at Central Texas Community Church. On November 19, 2011, he married Christian Caballes in Coleman. Rev. Diaz was a true shepherd, tending to his sheep and goats as well as ministering to any one that wanted to hear about the Lord. He loved travelling and seeing the world.

"Survivors include his wife, Christian Diaz of Coleman; seven children, Emilio Darnell Diaz of Belton; Nicholas Darell Diaz of Belton; Nicolette Emilia Diaz Lanham of Coleman; Kalie Danielle Diaz Perez of Coleman; Adelai Lanham of Coleman; Emme Christine Diaz of Coleman; Buster Pio Diaz of Coleman; 11 brothers and sisters, Diana Umana of Brownwood, Richard Diaz of Bangs, Elizabeth Vences Diaz of Houston, Felix Diaz of Coleman, Dorsey Bustamante of Brady, Silvia Diaz of Brady, Dora Diaz of Dallas, Mary Lou Diaz of Brownwood, Judy Espitia of San Angelo, Jimmy Diaz of Coleman and Joey Diaz of Houston. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kutter Diaz of Belton, Aven Diaz of Richland Springs.

"He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Aurora Diaz and a sister, Leticia Diaz."
