Cathy Lea Reed, age 55, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, February 18, 2019 after a two year battle with cancer. She was born on September 30, 1963 in New Albany, IN to Glenn and Carol (Sappenfield) Stackhouse.
Cathy married Kevin Reed on September 18, 1982. She was a 1982 graduate of North Harrison High School and a 1987 graduate of IU Southeast with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked at Clark Memorial Hospital for thirty years as a Nursery Nurse. She was a member of Salem Community Church. Cathy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, working on crafting projects, and reading.
Cathy is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tinsley Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Reed; son, Krieg Reed; daughter, Kristen (Alexander) Bailey; parents, Glenn and Carol (Sappenfield) Stackhouse; brother, Lynn Ray (Alice) Stackhouse; and grandsons, Preston and Warren Bailey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. and on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Palmyra Cemetery.
