Larry Wayne Dickerson, 61, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, February 14,2019.

He is survived by his sons, Josh (Kari) Dickerson and Kyle Wayne Dickerson; grandchildren, Braylen, Braxton and Elena Dickerson; loving and devoted girlfriend, Kathy Cash and the mother of his children, Novalee Dickerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Charles Dickerson.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and coached and taught his sons many lessons about life and finances. He loved listening to Rock & Roll music, working out and volunteering. Larry enjoyed spending time watching old western movies, especially Gun Smoke and Bonanza. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a Pool Shark.

Larry proudly served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After he left the Army, he went to work for VDOT as a Transportation Engineer, where he later retired. He enjoyed giving back and caring for people so much that in retirement he went back to work two part time jobs. He worked at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service and at American Family Fitness, both of which he was very proud that he was able to help people and bring smiles and laughter to the people he worked with. Larry will greatly be missed by many.

The family will receive friends for a casual memorial gathering from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte.10). He will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
