Gordon L. "Butch" Thompson, 59, passed away unexpectedly late Friday night, Feb. 15, 2019 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Butch was the loving husband of 40 years to Donna (Kauffman) Thompson. Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Gordon J. & Shirley A. (Hupert) Thompson.

Butch was a 1977 graduate of Cocalico High School and achieved the Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout. He was a veteran, serving in the Army from 1977 to 1992 and obtained his bachelor's degree from Western New England University in Springfield, MA. Butch worked as a Quality Assurance Technician for Berk-Tek in New Holland, Pa and was a member of OMPH Church in Ephrata. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame Football fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and his dog.

In addition to his wife, Butch is survived by two children, Christina L. (Nicholas) Musser of Palmyra and Patrick R. (Katie) Thompson of Napa CA; three grandchildren, Lillian Musser, Willow Musser, Natalie Scott; & a sister, Cindy A. Thompson of Ephrata. Butch was predeceased by his infant son, Scott Thompson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thurs., Feb. 21st at 11:30 AM in Weaver's Banquet Facility, 2610 N. Reading Rd., Denver. The service will be followed by light refreshments. Final resting place is Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Ephrata. The interment is private. Condolences may be posted at www.goodfuneral.com
