Laura I. “Ina” Stewart, 92, of Decatur, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019, at Fair Havens Christian Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ina was born May 2, 1926, in Erwin, NC. to Malcom and Jeronia (Tew) Morrison. She married James M. Stewart on October 2, 1945, in Lillington, NC. He passed away August 9, 1988. She loved playing bingo, listening to music, shopping and yardwork, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her ten children, Jim (Judy) Stewart, Larry (Joyce) Stewart, David (Louise) Stewart, Mick (Sandy) Stewart, Jeff Stewart, Danny Stewart, Ricky (Linda) Stewart, Joey (Rhonda) Stewart, Laura (Jack) Bodine and Tammy (Brian) Harrison; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-greeat-grandchild; two brothers, Bobby (Debbie) Morrison, Tony Morrison; two sisters, Jackie (Jim) Hardy and Lucille Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ina Stewart will be 3 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County or Paw Print.
