Mrs. Zoola Ferrel Coonrod, 74, died at her home, 2616 West Jefferson street, Tuesday night.
Born in Wichita, Kan., Sept. 16, 1884, Mrs. Coonrod came to Idaho by covered wagon with her parents in 1889. The family settled in Boise valley and her father, Felix N. Ferrell was the first sexton of Morris Hill cemetery.
She was married to Alonzo Bass in 1903. He died in 1935. She was married to C. C. Coonrod in 1945 who died in April 1958. She was a member of the Methodist Church; Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 8; Boise Aerie Auxiliary No. 115, FOE; Neighbors of Woodcraft, and Sons and Daughters of Idaho pioneers.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Bass, Council; four daughters; Mrs. Veta R. Kangas, Mrs. Winifred I. Goodman, and Ellen Louise Bass, all of Boise, and Mrs. Zola L. Jones of Pendleton; one brother, Fay Ferrell, Klamath Falls, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Bowles, Toppenish, Wash.; Mrs. Anna Breshears, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Nellie Hanson, Fruitland; three step-children; Glenn Coonrod, Boise; Mrs. LaVerne Nelson, Royalty, Texas; and Mrs. Gilda Draper, Boise; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Summers chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Herbert E. Richards and Dr. Charles M. Donaldson officiating. Interment will be at Cloverdale.(The Idaho Daily Statesman, Boise, Idaho, Thursday, August 20, 1959)
