Roy Charles Garner, age 80, longtime Coweta resident went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. Charles was born on October 29, 1938 in Muskogee, OK and was the son of John E. Garner and Ruby (Watson) Heard. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Marie Campbell on September 19, 1967 in Coweta, OK. Charles was a minister, evangelizing at many churches in the area. He also did some concrete work and enjoyed collecting cans all over Coweta, where he was known as the “Can Man”. Charles was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Holiness Church in Coweta. Serving God and serving others were his priorities. He loved Dr. Pepper and enjoyed watching wrestling and working in the yard. He loved life and loved people.

Charles is survived by his wife, Dorothy Garner of the home; one daughter, Sheila Garner; two grandchildren, Kristen Garner-Axtell and husband, Brandon and Chance Garner; two great grandchildren, Josiah Blake Axtell and Desiree Grace Axtell; two sisters, Pat Cochran and husband Earl Ray, Carolyn Ellison and husband, Ronnie; one brother, Roger Moore; two sisters-in-law, Gaye Weatherford Moore and Suzanne Moore; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Andy Moore, Mike Moore and Allen Wayne Moore and his grandmother who raised him, Granny Watson.
