A hardworking man, Leroy retired as a Quarry Superintendent for HJ Smith Quarry, Annville; and was formerly the Plant Supervisor for Pennsy Supply. He served with the Air National Guard from 1949-1952. Leroy was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg. He enjoyed being in his workshop, roaming the countryside on his John Deere tractor, and spending time with his family especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Umbrell Fisher, whom he married on November 19, 1949; four sons, Gary L. Fisher husband of Lynn of Moneta, VA, Daniel R. Fisher husband of Pat of Mechanicsburg, Randy J. Fisher of Elizabethtown, and Thomas M. Fisher husband of Janice of Seven Valleys; two brothers, Ralph G. Fisher husband of Arlene of Hummelstown, and Donald H. Fisher of Wellsville; one sister, Belva F. Sheaffer wife of Donald of Derry Township; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter; a grandson, Russell Allen Fisher; four sisters, Mildred Gipe, Fern Williams, Alma Hyde, and Lucille Houser; and four brothers, John Fisher, Wilbur Fisher, Norman Fisher, and Harvey Fisher.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 22, 2019, at 11 AM in Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, with The Rev. Robert P. Stokes, officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. Visitation will be held Friday in the church from 10 AM until time of the service. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
