June Loretta Dahl, age 80, was born at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, ND on May 23, 1938. She joined her love Sid in their heavenly home on February 14, 2019.
June was raised in rural Reynolds, ND and attended school in both Reynolds and Grand Forks, ND. She had 3 sons from her first marriage. Then in 1976 June married Sid Dahl and they had one daughter. June worked a variety of jobs throughout her life including being a waitress, cook, daycare provider, nutritionist, bookkeeper and manager of the Gallery Apartments. She was a past president of the American Legion Post 157, East Grand Forks, MN and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1874, Grand Forks, ND. She was a member of University Lutheran church.
June enjoyed reading and spending time at the lake. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a selfless person that would do anything for her family and be there when needed. June was an amazing cook and will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her children; Gregory Higgins (Brenda), Lodi, WI; Jerry Higgins (Julie), Reynolds, ND; Jeff Higgins (JoLee), Pillager, MN; Cindy Strom (Brian), Grand Forks, ND; her sister Patricia Osland (George), McIntosh, MN and sister-in-law Linda Wangen, Bismarck, ND; in addition, she had 7 nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Nienas and Hilda Vanyo, stepfather Ernest Vanyo, sister Jane Nienas, half-brother Roger Nienas and husband Sid Dahl.
