Written by Barbara Hammons Davis:
Only 35 at the time of her death, she had been married for 14 years and had given birth to 11 children.

Born in Wilson Co., TN., she made the grueling trip by foot, wagon and horseback to AR. with her husband, 5 children, (she may have been pregnant with one,) and her father, mother and family friends.

Her husband, John J. (Jr.) Herriman was the s/o John and Rebecca Spurlock Herriman. Polly was the d/o Jeremiah (J.T.) Turner Reeves and his wife, Elizabeth Powell, who was the widow of Isham Handy who had drowned a very short time after their wedding.

Polly was the sister of Lucinda, who was my husband's great great grandmother, Salena, Sabrina and Laten. She was the mother of Miles, Rachel, John, Susan, Rebecka, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, David, Josiah, Mary Ann and the twin of Mary Ann who died with the Sr. Mary at birth.

Gravesite Details She is buried with her infant daughter. They were the first burials in this cemetery.
