Vickie Lynn Murphy, 65, of Pekin, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at her daughter's home in Pekin.
She was born February 28, 1953 in Pekin to Louis A. and Betty Jane (Lee) Penning. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Y. (Ronnie) Harris and Jamie L. Murphy, both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Shantelle K. Conover of Kewanee, Alexis N. Murphy, Brandon J. Lighter and Blake E. Harris, all of Pekin; one sister, Bonnie L. Penning of Pekin; one niece, Stacy Morgan of Pekin; and one nephew, Louis (Ellyn) Penning of Pekin.
A homemaker, Vickie was very family oriented. She was proud to stay in touch with her family and spent time with them whenever possible. She also liked crochet and write poems.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Utech will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
