Ruth Keller Hand
Ruth Keller Hand, 83, of Taylorsville, passed away Friday, June 1, 2007, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville.
She was born Jan. 1, 1924, to Barney Thomas Keller and Maude Lee Cline Keller in Alexander County.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Cloyd Rayford Hand; six brothers, Howard, Gaither, Clayton, Warren, Fred and Hoyle Keller; and one sister, Bea Teague.
Ruth was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member who had walked to church as a child. She was active in the W.M.U. and served as a leader for Baptist Young Women. She worked at Catawba Paper Box Co. for more than 30 years.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory include a son, Bobby Hand and wife, Pam, of Bethlehem; two daughters, Carol Bebber and husband, Wayne, and Geraldine Marlowe and husband, John, all of Taylorsville; eight grandchildren, Crystal Murphy and husband, Trey, of Taylorsville, Kenny Yoder and wife, Dorreen, of Bethlehem, Julie Miller and husband, Kerry, of Dudley Shoals, Stacy Bebber, Shelley Millsaps and husband, Jason, and Eric Marlowe, all of Taylorsville, Jason Marlowe and wife, April, of Bethlehem, and Mindy Marlowe of Taylorsville; a sister, Betty Sue Presnell of Taylorsville; seven great-grandchildren, Jessi, Nathan and Isaac Miller of Dudley Shoals, Travis and Daudrey Yoder of Bethlehem, Madison Marlowe of Bethlehem and Luke Millsaps of Taylorsville; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at Antioch, with the Revs. Mark Morris and Gary Jennings officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Antioch Baptist Church, Building Fund, 580 Antioch Church Road, Taylorsville, N.C. 28681. Pallbearers are Eric Marlowe, Jason Marlowe, Stacy Bebber, Kenny Yoder, Kerry Miller, Trey Murphy and Jason Millsaps. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Presnell, Steve Presnell and Wayne Hand. Funeral arrangements are provided by Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville.
