“Beverly Smith Scott age, 46, of Denver, NC, formerly of Wayside, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Carolinas Medical Center at Lincolnton, NC.

Born May 20, 1972 at Summers County, WV, she was the daughter of Blaine and Cathy Wilson Smith of Wayside, WV. Beverly was a 1990 graduate of Union High School, and she furthered her education at Concord College at Athens, WV. She was a certified Notary, Phlebotomist, and EMT in North Carolina. She had worked as the Food Service Director at Aramark Corporation at Charlotte, NC.

Beverly was in the Teal Divas Ovarian Cancer Group and helped with several other Ovarian Cancer organizations. She helped create and kept up the “Wayside” Facebook page. She was a member of the “Gutter Gang” Bowling League. Beverly enjoyed spending time at the beach and boating on Lake Norman. She adored all animals, especially her cats. Beverly was a member of Cove Church at Langtree, NC.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Woodrow and Jewel Wilson and Louise Massey; paternal grandparents, John and Lilly Smith; and father-in-law, Dennis Scott. In addition to her parents survivors include, her husband of 15 years, two brothers,; mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday January 6, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Jim Wentz and Pastor Wes Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery at Creamery, WV. Friends may call Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the funeral home.

There will also be a celebration of Beverly’s life held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sparetime Bowling Alley 16317 Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28708.
