Bruce was born November 24, 1948 in Albemarle. He was the son of the late Melvin Gene Almond and Jeanette Davis Almond.
Bruce was a 1967 graduate of West Stanly High School, where he met his future wife, Diane Love. Bruce enjoyed driving a truck across the country with Diane. He was the owner of Almond's Trucking before his retirement in 2011. Bruce was a loving husband, father and PawPaw. He had a deep love for his family and was loved by many.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Diane Love Almond; two daughters, Amanda Almond Arey and husband, Doug, and Angela Almond Morrison and husband, Matt, all of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Ashley Arey Smith, Landon Arey, Ryan Morrison and Caleb Morrison; six great-grandchildren, Henry Smith, Titus Smith, Jayden Arey, Emma Arey, Eli Morrison, and Riley Morrison; three sisters, Denise Crosby of Oakboro, Terry Peck of Albemarle, and Tracy Gaddy of Albemarle.
