Marie passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at her home in Cookeville, Tennessee.
She was born Saturday, January 20, 1940 in Rickman, Tennessee to the late Oplis Cox and Oza Ann Phillips Cox.

Marie attended church at Dodson Branch Free Will Baptist Church. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, Mema and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Layton Cox, Horace Cox, Arlo Cox, Billy Cox, and Buster Phillips.

She is survived by: daughters, Connie (Rick) Jackson, Carol Holley, and Karen (Richard) Ledbetter, all of Cookeville; sons, Joe (Debbie) Peek, Jackie (Penny) Peek, and Jerry (Rhonda) Peek, all of Cookeville; nineteen grandchildren, Kevin (Tiffany) Bull, Niki (Hank) Brown, Matt (Talisha) Holley, Cody Holley, Candice Peek, Erica (Dale) Spurlock, Marissa (William) Goodale, Sarena (Jbo) Sparkman, Travis Ledbetter, Josh (Rachel) Ledbetter, Valerie Wilson, Kelly Spivey, Joey (Heather) Trevathan, Bruce (Amanda) Qualls, Mitchell Peek, Adam Peek, Rick Stegall, Kyle (Tracy) McCloud, and Tabitha Peek; thirty five great grandchildren; sisters, Dean Ball of Allons, Tennessee, Lula Barger, and Jean Auberson, both of Rickman, Tennessee; brothers, Tom Cox of Glasgow, Kentucky, Russell Cox of Cookeville, James Cox and Walter Cox of Rickman, Tennessee, and Jack West of Livingston; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
