Joan Lovell Semmes Bullard, 87, passed away at her home Saturday, November 18, 2017. She was born April 14, 1930 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, the daughter of Donna Berry Lovell and Victor Otto Lovell. She graduated from Brookhaven High School and attended the University of Mississippi before moving to Memphis in 1952, where she was a member of Idlewild Presbyterian Church and a former member of Le Bonheur and Les Passees. Joan was predeceased by her husband, W. Lamar Bullard, and her sister, Nancy Nevels Fuller. She leaves two children, Vicki Semmes Baird (Rob) of Memphis and Rev. John M. Semmes (Cindy) of Oxford, MS; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Baird and Robert Baird, both of Austin, TX, Emily Semmes of Nashville, TN and Sophie Semmes of Auburn, AL. She is also survived by her children's father, R. Eustace Semmes, of Memphis.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 25, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am, both at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Avenue Extended, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Montgomery officiating.
