James Randall (Randy) Pettit, age 66, of Crossett, AR, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. He was born on July 23, 1952 in Monroe, LA to James Phillips and Carolyn Sue Minor Pettit. Randy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Crossett and had a passion for many hobbies, including woodworking, fishing, remote controlled cars and airplanes and photography. He played the guitar and had a beautiful tenor singing voice. When he was just fifteen years old, James started a high school rock-n-roll band called The Fifth Freedom. In 1974, he graduated from the United Electronic Institute of Little Rock, AR as an electronic technician. He ended his career as a computer technician with Georgia Pacific Corporation. Randy's greatest love in life was his family. He absolutely adored his daughters and his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Izora Minor; paternal grandparents, Frank and Ruby Pettit; three uncles, Freddie, Paul and Frank, Jr. Pettit; two cousins, Frank Lynn Pettit and Stacy Richie.

Mr. Pettit has left to cherish his memory, his wife of almost 47 years, Peggy Lynn Pettit; two daughters, Amanda Kay Currier (Bryan) of Maryville, TN and Rikki Lynn LeMere of Sanford, NC; two grandchildren, Eric Tyler Currier and Emily Catherine LeMere; two step grandchildren, Evan Lee Currier and Brianna Elaine Currier; his parents, Jim and Sue Pettit; one brother, William Scott Pettit (Linda) of Monroe, LA; two sisters in law, Diane Edwards and Sharon Mann (Steve), both of Crossett, AR and a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life Service for Randy Pettit is at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Crossett, AR with Bro. Brian Diffee officiating. Pallbearers are Dr. Steve Smart, Paul Serio, Larry Clark, John Carey Johnson, Robert Morgan and Bryan Currier. Honorary Pallbearer is John Dupree. Interment is in Pinewood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Jones Funeral Home, Inc.
