Services will be held for Sarah McInnis Richards, 87, of Bandon, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 13, at Skyline Baptist Church, 3451 Liberty Lane, North Bend in the family room.

“Innis” was born April 22, 1922, in Santa Rosa, Calif. She died March 7, 2010, in Coos Bay.

Innis was married to Roy Richards for more than 50 years when Roy died in 1996. She attended college at DePauw University in Indiana. She obtained her registered physical thereapist degree at the UC San Francisco graduate school, where she received her degree in physical therapy. She enjoyed being a physical therapist for many years. Innis was an avid violinist for almost 70 years. She played in the Santa Monica Symphony for more than 40 years and the last eight years at Southwestern Oregon Community College. She attended Skyline Baptist church for eight years. She loved to swim and swam regularly at Bay Area Athletic Club.

Sarah was a great ambassador of Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ’s love and forgiveness was shown freely to everyone who knew her. She was known for her laughter and she will be greatly missed.

Even though her obituary says she was born 22 April 1922, her records show it is 18 April 1922 also her birth record shows the maiden name as Ingle not McInnis.
