Services for Mrs. Iva Marett Taylor, 99, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mrs. Taylor passed away July 26, 2014 in Grand Saline. She was born September 1, 1914 to N.E. & Nina Riggs Marett. She lived most all of her life in Van Zandt County where she was Church of Christ and was a school teacher. She had owned and operated Taylor's Ice Cream since 1971 and it is still owned and operated by her grandchildren. She was a wife and homemaker and would have been 100 years old in September and was really looking forward to that day. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Leon Dick Humphrey and Earl Taylor; two brothers, Leon Marett and Bill Marett; sister, Neva Jean King and one great-grandchild, Lucas Humphrey.
Survivors include her son, Lonnie Humphrey of Grand Saline; four grandchildren, Angela & Denny Abernathy of Grand Saline, Todd & Cindy Humphrey of Grand Saline, Kip Humphrey of Murfreesboro, TN and Kyle Humphrey of Grand Saline; ten great-grandchildren, Micah & Mary Lowe, Camille Fuller, Cody & Kathryn Humphrey, Katy & Craig Conley, Cole Humphrey, Levi Humphrey, Jake Humphrey, Lexi Humphrey, Kylie Humphrey and Haylie Humphrey; two great-great-grandchildren, Connor and Cameron Lowe; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Todd Humphrey, Kip Humphrey, Kyle Humphrey, Micah Lowe, Denny Abernathy and Cole Humphrey.
Memorials may be made to Woodside Cemetery Association or Old School Museum.
