Sally L. Hall (nee Garratt), 78, of Bridgeton died Tuesday morning February 12, 2019 at SJ Extended Care in Bridgeton following an extended illness.
Predeceased by her husband, James D. Hall in July of 2017, Mr. and Mrs. Hall had been married for almost 57 years at the time of his passing. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion Johnson Garratt. She was born in Salem, NJ on March 10, 1940.
She was raised in Salem and was a 1958 graduate of Salem High School. For many years she had been a resident of Harvard Avenue in Bridgeton and later lived at Upper Deerfield Estates before entering SJ Extended Care.
Mrs. Hall was employed for over 30 years by NJ Bell Telephone and later Verizon as a customer service representative in their Bridgeton, Millville and Vineland offices.
She had been a softball coach at West Cumberland Little League and was an enthusiastic sports fan.
She and her husband played Pinochle and Parcheesi and spent many enjoyable evenings with their close family friends: the late Georgbe and Kay Stahlberger, Les and Janet Streets and the late Burt and Lorraine Glaspey. In addition, she enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends from high school who continue to meet monthly to play pinochle and have done so since 1962.
Survivors include one son, Brian Hall and his wife Janet of Bridgeton, two granddaughters, Rachel and Carly Hall as well as nieces and nephews. In additions to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her only sister, Martha Ann Joiner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside funeral services at Overlook Cemetery, Greenwich Road, Bridgeton on Friday afternoon February 15th at 3 o'clock.
The interment will follow the services.
