Howard S. Jenkins

Austin native passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the age of 91.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Polly; along with children, Brenda Bishop and husband Jeff, Cathy Scott and husband Richard, Becky Wyatt and husband Bobby; and son, Howard Jenkins Jr. and wife Denise. He enjoyed his eight grandchildren―Bobby Wyatt, Jr, Brandy Beck, Jennifer Thomson, Jonathan Scott, Brenda Wyatt, Maggie Bishop, Eric Bishop, and Beth Bishop; eight great-grandchildren.

Howard served in the Navy in WWII. He went on to work as a research engineer at Applied Research Labs at the University of Texas, where he traveled to South America and Antarctica, and finished his career there. Howard enjoyed many rounds of golf, sometimes sharing a cigar and always a joke, with his many golfing buddies. He will be fondly remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a Navy Veteran, an avid golfer, and always having a ready joke.

We love and will miss you, Papa.

Services 10:00 am Friday, February 15, 2019 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas.

Interment will follow at Kyle Cemetery.
