Alfred P. Burgett, born October 4, 1926, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 92. He was born and raised in Tarrant, Alabama. He married the former Robbie Tidwell and lived in the Spoonhandle community until his passing. He was an honored veteran of WWII.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, John and Debbie Stricklin Burgett; sister, Lois Burgett McCollum; granddaughter, Kensey Higginbotham.
He loved and cherished his family and enjoyed visiting and spending time with each of them. He was proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the joy of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Robbie Burgett; children, Karon (Terry) Helton, Alan (Regina) Burgett, Joy (Ken) Higginbotham and Robin (Gail_ Burgett; five grandchildren, Ryan Helton, Jill (Andrew) Bratcher, Alex (Brittney) Burgett, Kesley (Jeremy) Hill and Austin Burgett; four great grandchildren, Aidan Helton, Hadley Bratcher, Anderson Bratcher and Bowen Burgett; many friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Lemley Funeral Home. Funeral services will held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Youngblood Cemetery. Bro. Gary Youngblood and Bro.
