LAPORTE- Carla Johnson, 57, of LaPorte, formerly of Knox, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, IN.
Carla was born April 5, 1961 in Knox, IN to Willard and Marjorie Minix and lived in LaPorte for four months, coming from Knox. She was a former medical assistant and attended Little Dove Baptist Church of Toto. She loved caring for people and cherished her children and grandchildren, making them the focus of her life.
On July 30, 1994 at Hamlet, IN, she was married to Allen Johnson, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Mark (Tara) Polite of Plymouth, Sara (Bill) Peden of Plymouth and JoAnna (C.J.) Vitale of Walkerton; one step-daughter, Andrea Newell of Bremen; her father, Willard Minix of Knox; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gellis Minix and Willard Minix Jr.; and two sisters, Linda May and Brenda Conley. She was preceded in death by her mother; twin sister, Diane Wright; and brother, Wade Minix.
A memorial service will be Friday, February 15, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. CST at Little Dove Baptist Church in Toto where a celebration of life gathering will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel is handling arrangements.
