Charles Robert "Chuck" Mays, age 83 of Grandview, WV passed away at his home on Tuesday February 12, 2019.
Born on April 28, 1935 at Beaver, he was the son of the late Luther Mays and Golda Akers Mays.
Mr. Mays was retired from the US Air Force with 20 years of service, having served in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. He was a TSGT and NCOIC flight line Medicine. That expertise enabled him to care for his disabled son Steve his entire life, and also for his wife Thelma. Mr. Mays was the retired owner and operator T&C Book Exchange in Beaver. Mr. Mays was a member of Beaver First Baptist Church, member of the DAV, and the VFW. Mr. Mays enjoyed gardening, and woodworking in his spare time.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mays was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Mays, son Steven Mays, and a brother, Billy Joe Mays.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Monday February 18, 2019 at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home
