He was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's High School in Oakland and received his bachelor's degree from the University of San Francisco in 1970. He taught from 1971 to 1978 at Ready Springs School and for twenty-two years at Magnolia Intermediate School in Grass Valley, California. He also taught part-time at Washington Ridge Youth Camp and Nevada Union Home Hospital.
He enjoyed golf, camping, gambling, fishing and time with his family. His love of world history was complemented by his love of travel and adventure.
Survivors: his parents, Tom and Bernice Vieira, who both work at Union Hill School in Grass Valley; wife, Victoria Vieira of Nevada City; children, Ali Vieira of San Francisco and Megan, Jamie and Daniel Vieira all of Nevada City; grandson, Anthony Vieira; first wife, Monica Frohreich of Nevada City; brother, Tom Vieira of Penn Valley; sister, Judith Mello of Guerneville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of the life of David Anthony Vieira will be from noon to 3:00 P.M. Monday at the L.O.V.E. building at Condon Park in Grass Valley.
