RAMONA F. (BAKER) BUTTERCASE, age 87 of Gretna, NE formerly of Rock Port, MO and Sidney, IA died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE following an extended illness. Ramona was born February 15, 1931 at her parents home in Hamburg, IA. Ramona was the daughter of Charlotte Ruth Means Baker and Walter A.I. Baker. Ramona lived in Hamburg until she was 12. Then moved to Lincoln for a short time, before moving to Sidney, IA. Ramona graduated from Sidney High School in May 1948. She married Don Williamson November 6, 1948 and gave birth to her first born, Gary Duane, Oct 2, 1949, in Nebraska City. She had her second born, David Everett, March 17, 1951, in Creston, IA. Don lost his life in a car accident in January of 1954.

Ramona moved back to Sidney and married Ronald Henry on December 30th, 1954. Ramona had her third born, Cheryl Ann, December 8, 1955, in Hamburg, IA. Ramona’s forth born, was Janelle Irene. Born February 12, 1958, in Nebraska City, NE. In 1959, Ramona and Ron moved their family to the Unadilla, Syracuse, Nebraska area. Ramona’s last born, was Charleen Kay, born March 3, 1963, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The family bought a house in 1964 where Ramona raised her family. In 1978-1983, Ramona worked at Norm’s Variety and Crafts. She then went to work in housekeeping and nurse aide until 1989, at Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse. Ronald passed away from a heart attack on June 14, 1985. Ramona stayed in Syracuse for an additional 4 years, and then moved to Omaha. She worked at Montclair Care Center from 1989-1993.

Ramona married Lynn Buttercase on July 9, 1993, and moved to his farm, 9 miles north of Rockport. She then worked as a volunteer in the care center in Rockport for 1 year after marrying Lynn. Then worked part time at the Nebraska City Manor in 1995 and 1996 until diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 1997 and had to quit working.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Don Williamson, Ronald Henry and Robert "Lynn" Buttercase; and a son, Gary Henry. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Henry, Janelle Andresen and Charleen Henry; sons, Dave Henry and wife Diane; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends
