A life-long resident of Florida, he was born on February 21, 1934 in Winter Haven. His parents were Judson David Partin, Mary Helen Mullis, and Ila Mae Partin. A veteran of the Korean War, Jack was a very active member of the Wimauma Community Church of God and a heavy equipment operator for most of his life, owning an excavation company before he retired as a consultant in 2008. He was a loving husband, father, and Poppa Jack to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Nita); son, Dan and fiancee, Georgia Thomas of Apollo Beach, FL; daughter, Jamel Bass and husband, James of Ruskin, FL; stepson, Robert Wade and wife, Christy of Ruskin, FL; stepdaughter, Lisa Pittman and husband, Gabe of Apollo Beach, FL; sister, Karen Carleton of Lake Wales, FL; sister, Marla Outlaw and husband, David of Lake Wales, FL; and sister, Linda Jones and husband, Rick of Wauchula, FL.
Papa Jack had 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba, daughter, Sandy, brother, David, and sister, Barbara.
Jack was a kind, quiet and tender-hearted man of tremendous integrity. He was also a God-loving man of great faith who was blessed with a wonderful tenor voice and loved to sing gospel music throughout his life, worshiping and touching countless.
Open visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13 from 9:30-11 am with funeral services beginning at 11 am, at the Wimauma Community Church of God, 5504 FL-674, Wimauma, FL. Interment will follow at Ruskin Cemetery. Arrangements are handled by Sun City Center Funeral Home .
