Graveside service for Vernon T. Combs, 91, of Keene will be conducted at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. The Reverend Bob Massey will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM., Monday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Vernon T. Combs passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 in Ft. Worth. He was born June 1, 1926 in Greenville to Theodore and Iva McBroom Combs.
Mr. Combs worked as a staff manager for National Life and Accident Insurance Company, retiring with 20 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 314 of Alvarado for 65 years and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Combs and wife Sue of Alvarado and Bob Combs of Cleburne; two grandchildren, Christian Combs and wife Robin and Lori Boggs; four great grandchildren, Joshua Boggs, Caleb Boggs, Caitlyn Combs and Austin Combs; one brother, Odell Combs of Keller; long-time love, Eva Johnson of Whitesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Leroy Combs, Bill Combs, Betty Mahaney and Joann Combs.
