WOMAN, TEACHER
OF DEAF, DIES

Mrs. Jessie W. Barlow, 46, wife of Willard E. Barlow, formerly of Bountiful, died at her home in Salt Lake, Monday morning, of an illness caused from heart trouble.

Mrs. Barlow was born in Bountiful Jan. 12, 1886, she was married in the Salt Lake Temple in September 1905.

Much of her life was devoted to church activities and to work among the deaf of the community. An active member of the Bountiful and Syracuse primary associations in 1920 with her husband she was called to conduct an L.D.S. Sunday school for the deaf of Salt Lake and the vicinity. Held every Sunday at noon in the bureau of information building this activity accomplished much for the deaf.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Alton Morton, Elmer W., Florence W., Ralph, and Wilford S. Barlow, all of Salt Lake.

Her father George Wright, also survives her and four brothers Alma of Sandy; Alexander of Colorado; Bryant of Bountiful, and Joshua Wright of Salt Lake, and eight sisters, Mrs. T. W. Barnett of Bountiful, Mrs. Elgin Jacobson, Mrs. Reuben Hepworth, Mrs. Kenneth Olson, Mrs. Ralph Glenn of Salt Lake; Mrs. Violet Knighton of Los Angeles; Mrs. William Cluff and Mrs. Ralph Cluff of Pingree, Idaho.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Bountiful Tabernacle, Bishop Quayle Cannon officiating.

The speakers were A. C. Malcolm of Bountiful; Olaf Larsen of Salt Lake; Edward P. Kimball representing the general Sunday school board and Bishop Cannon.

Mr. Woodbury, interpreter of the deaf Sunday school, interpreted the services for the many deaf persons present.

Bountiful mixed quartet sang: "O My Father; duet "Going Home," Fern and Ida Richards; solo, "Face to Face," Elander T. Thompson; closing song, "A Christmas Good Night," by the Bountiful male quartet.

Pallbearers were three brothers Alma, Bryant and Joshua Wright, and three brother-in-laws, Haven, Harold and La Mar Barlow. Interment took place in the Bountiful cemetery.
