Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Elaine Fletcher, 54, of Gary, Texas will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 6-8:00 p.m., Friday evening, February 15, 2019 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Susan Elaine Furlong Fletcher was born in Houston, Texas, August 14, 1964, to the marriage of Glynn David Smith and Elita Jane Street. She went to Sam Houston High School and enjoyed fishing and needlepoint. She is preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Furlong is survived by her step-dad, Mr. Ray Norwood; mother, Mrs. Elita Shive, of Kingwood; husband, Donald Fletcher of Gary; children, Jeremy Furlong of Italy, Alicia Nicole Ayers and Josh of Gary, Shayna Furlong of Overton; brothers, David Smith and wife Faith of San Antonio, Oren Norwood and wife Hilda of Humble, Wayne Smith of New Caney, Johnny Norwood and wife Claudette of Livingston, Joseph Street of Houston; sisters, Donna Norwood of Dickinson, Elizabeth Norwood of Tomball, Dana Nunley and husband Robert of Willis, and Samantha McCoy of Houston; best friend, Gary Saunders of Gary; and grandchildren Makayla Furlong, Eryka Furlong, Caitlynn Ayers, and Jeremy Furlong, Jr.
