Judith (Aiken) Garrett passed away quietly on November 18th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Downey, California, where she met and married her husband, Robert. Judy graduated from California Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1963, as a Registered Nurse. She later graduated from Graceland University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration. Nursing was her passion. Judy worked in all aspects of the medical field from hospitals to doctor’s offices and finished her career as a beloved school nurse for the Avon (Connecticut) Public School System. She stayed active in nursing even in retirement, maintaining her Nursing certifications in Arkansas by volunteering at Baxter Medical Center and working as a triage nurse for the Mountain Home Christian Clinic.

She spent her retirement years traveling throughout the world with her husband and friends, and visiting her children and grand-children. She especially enjoyed attending the various ceremonies of the accomplishments of her grandchildren. She was an avid supporter of all things military and the thin blue line.

Judy is survived by her husband, Robert Garrett of Mountain Home, Arkansas; brother Fred Aiken and his wife Linda of Santa Maria, California; son: Jim Garrett and his wife Robin of Bloomington, Indiana; daughter: Jeanine Allin and her husband Doug of Tolland, Connecticut; and daughter Janet Alfano and her husband Thomas of Deland, Florida; along with 10 grandchildren, Nina Inman, Jessica Alfano, Michael Candels, Katie Candels, John Garrett, Randall Garrett, Theresa Alfano, Jennifer Allin, Matthew Allin and Jessi Bennett.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating.
